WELCOME TO CAFE' LAFITTE IN EXILE

The Daddy of 'em all!!  Cafe Lafitte is the oldest continuously operting  gay bar in the country ....despite what the others may claim.  The bar has a long and interesting history, during his years in New Orleans, Tennessee Williams used to frequent Lafittes along with Truman Capote.  That tradition continues today as you just never know who you might run in too!!  The famous, infamous, locals and visitors all find Cafe' Lafitte a great place to "hang out" while in New Orleans.  Located at the corner of Bourbon and Dumaine Streets, Lafittes is at the center of New Orleans Gay Night Life and just steps away from French Quarter hotels and attractions.

Lafittes features two floors of libations, music, and video.  Downstairs you'll find the main bar with three 60'' flat screens & outdoor seating.  Upstairs you'll find another bar, pool table, and the balcony overlooking Bourbon Street.  During Mari Gras and Southern Decadence, because the gay crowd dominates this part of Bourbon Street, people tend to be a little more "adventurous" in their pursuit of beads and "sights"...the balcony at Lafittes can be quite "entertaining." Lafittes is popular spot to hangout year-round.
