Thanks For A Great Southern Decadence 2013
The Daddy of 'em all!! Cafe Lafitte is the oldest continuously operating gay bar in North America. The bar has a long and interesting history, during his years in New Orleans, Tennessee Williams used to frequent Lafittes along with Truman Capote. That tradition continues today as you just never know who you might run in too!! The famous, infamous, locals and visitors all find Cafe' Lafitte a great place to "hang out" while in New Orleans. Located at the corner of Bourbon and Dumaine Streets, Lafittes is at the center of New Orleans Gay Night Life and just steps away from French Quarter hotels and attractions.
Lafittes features two floors of libations, music, and video. Downstairs you'll find the main bar with three 60'' flat screens & outdoor seating. "THE BALCONY" @ Cafe Lafitte's upstairs is a Handcrafted Cocktail lounge with an upscale atmosphere. The wrap around balcony has sweeping views of Bourbon Street and the French Quarter skyline. During Mari Gras and Southern Decadence, the gay crowd dominates this part of Bourbon Street, and is the center of gay New Orleans. Lafittes is popular spot to hangout year-round.
